Disease Tested Aviary
All birds in our aviary are tested for Psittacine Beak and Feather Disease (PBFD), Polyomavirus, and Psittacosis. As a closed aviary, we quarantine and test all incoming birds before they are introduced to our flock, ensuring the health and safety of all our birds.
Fully Flighted Birds
At Orange Feather Aviary, we believe in allowing our chicks to fledge naturally, so we do not clip their wings. This gives them the opportunity to fully develop their flight skills, building confidence and coordination as they grow.
Socialized Chicks
We hand-raise our chicks while socializing them with birds of the same species, ensuring they develop both independence and strong social skills. We introduce them to a variety of toys, environments, and foods to help them become confident, well-rounded birds.
Subspecies Preservation
We are committed to preserving the distinct subspecies of Poicephalus parrots. By carefully selecting breeding pairs and maintaining a focus on genetic diversity and health, we aim to protect the unique traits of these remarkable birds for future generations.
